CASE STUDY: A nine-year-old male suffered with Tourette Syndrome, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, depression, asthma, insomnia, and headaches.
The asthma and upper respiratory infections were present since infancy; headaches began at age 6, followed by the onset of TS, ADHD, depression and insomnia at age 7, and neck pain for the last year.
According to the boy’s mother, forceps were used during delivery. He was currently taking Albuterol, Depakote, Wellbutrin, and Adderall.
During his examination, x-rays displayed misalignments in the vertebrae of his neck. The patient received Chiropractic adjustments to correct and stabilize the injury to his neck.
After six weeks of Chiropractic care, all six conditions were no longer present; all medications were discontinued except a half-dose of Wellbutrin. At a five-month follow-up, all symptoms remained absent.
Results of this study, published in the Journal of Vertebral Subluxation Research, suggest a link between traumatic birth, neck injury and his neurological conditions.
